  Awesome keyboard

| | See all eggster2002's reviews (1)

Indeed this an awesome keyboard. Low profile and compact.

If you are looking for a silent keyboard like some of the other customers that have brought this item then you may want to consider spending the money for one.

You wont find a quiet keyboard for a tenner maybe more around the thirty to fifty pound mark like an Apple keyboard.

It also doesnt describe any where on the box that this product has silent keys so I dont know where the other customers got the idea that this would be a silent keyboard.

The keys on the board do have a little noise but nothing compared to most other standard keyboards.

For less than tenner you cant go wrong with it and I love it.

  Noisy and not user friendly

I bought one of these a few weeks ago as I wanted a quiet, laptop-like keyboard. If that's what you're after, DON'T get this. I was stupid enough to think that some reviews I'd read about its noise must be wrong as Logitech states in their description that it's a "low profile" keyboard. That it may be, but one thing it is NOT is quiet. I can't emphasise that enough. If you're used to a laptop keyboard, this will drive you nuts within 5 seconds with its clattering keys.

Some other cons: If you're a touch-typer, this one isn't for you, since the home keys have a pathetically sized marker which means you have to keep looking down to find them.
As others have said, the location of some of the keys is a bit odd - there's no right-menu button, either.
And the markings on the keys themselves are pretty dull, so not very visible, especially when the day starts getting dark.

I immediately sent mine back and bought a Logitech UltraX Premium keyboard - if a quiet laptop-like keyboard is what you're looking for, you'd do better getting one of those for just a few quid more than this. A few weeks in, the Ultra-flat isn't a patch on it - the UltraX Premium is perfectly quiet like a laptop, bright white keys and great for touch typing, with adequate markers.

Sadly, it looks from their website as though Logitech are replacing their economy-line UltraX Premium keyboard with this noisy, un-user-friendly one. If so, get one while you still can!

As for me, I won't be dismissing buyer reviews so readily in future.

Easy and slim on your hands very small and packs away extremely easily. Best keyboard I've ever used I would strongly recommended it. You won't regret your order!

  Worthwhile Buy!

I ordered this to go with my NZXT Blackline case. I can confirm that the key stokes are noisy, however considering the price that has been paid I'd expect nothing less. The keyboard itself looks fantastic and although i'm still getting used to the key positions i'm pretty happy with the buy. One thing I must mention however is the wire to plug it in with is rather short compared to other keyboards available, whilst not hindering performance from the keyboard, it meant I had to reposition my computer to use it.

Still, a recommended buy from me, i'd also recommend getting the Logitech LS1 Laser Mouse to go with it as it also looks fantasic and is rather cheap and is available from play also.

  Fine but a bit noisy

This keyboard feels good to type on but the keystrokes are noisy. Also delete kay is a bit far away though it is in the same position as the one on my laptop. I also find that I quite often hit caps lock instead of shift, though that may be my typing position. Fine at the price.

I love this keyboard, its the closest thing you'll get to a laptop keyboard for your desktop. Its small, looks good, and is fairly quiet compared to my last keyboard. The only bad thing I found about it was that the delete key was in a bit of an ackword place but you get used to it. Definantly worth £9.99 :)

I don't know wether it was just the one we had, but typing on this keyboard is very noisy comapred to other keyboards I have used. Cheap and functional though.

Great value for money, good design..

| | See all adaaaamm's reviews (4)

This is a great compact keyboard, it looks great and has the same kind of quality feel and design as my mac keyboard. It is really small and compact (40cm in length and about 16cm in width) so takes up little space on my desk and it has a nice glossy black finish. It feels well built even compared to some really expensive keyboards and it doesn't have any unnecessary buttons like my last keyboard (such as buttons for opening mail and stuff) its also great value for money.

It is very easy to install and doesn't require any annoying software like some other keyboards. it works straight from plugging into a usb port.

The only reason i have not given this 5 stars is because the keys seem too squashed together. The ctrl and alt keys on the bottom are really small and close together, the numeric keypad is squashed right up to the return key and there is no separate section for the insert and delete key, also the cursor control keys are cramped in-between the main keys and the numeric keypad which makes it hard to find if you wan to just use it quickly. A lot of keys such as print screen insert and delete are not in a standard position, so although it is a basic logitech keyboard it doesn't have a standard desktop keyboard layout which may put some people off. For general use the layout is easy to get used to but i wouldn't recommend it for gaming.

but it is great value for the money, also it has good laptop style low and flat keys instead of the raised keys you get on other desktop keyboards.
