Plug and play. Very small dongle is great for laptop/Notebook use. The 1 x AA battery gives the mouse a bit of weight which is great for normal stand-alone use. The wheel "clicks" which is okay. Basic two button mouse. Cursor reaction is top. If you want a featherlight feel for on the road, then go for a higherspec logitech that takes a 1 x AAA battery, more buttons and a free fly wheel which is great for speed viewing, which incidently I also have. Cant go wrong with the make, no matter which model you buy.
