Star Trek fans will love having this starship Enterprise webcam floating above their computer.

As well as being a high quality plug and play USB webcam, it's styled after the original Star Trek television series Enterprise, with light-up engine nacelles and an focusable camera in the deflector dish.

An adjustable flex means that your Enterprise webcam can be positioned for the best view and moved about as required. It also features an adhesive Star Fleet insignia, so that it can be mounted on the side of a computer monitor.

True plug-and-play functionality means that no drivers are required and it's compatible with virtually all video chat applications including Skype, Google Chat, MSN and Yahoo.

I'd been contemplating getting a webcam for a while, and when I saw this I couldn't help it for the novelty factor alone.

The Good: Surprisingly decent webcam, more than ample for IM and Skype use. Uses standard drivers so was up and running very quick. Looks nice with lit up nacelles.

The Bad: Brings no software at all, unlike other webcams, so you can't take your own photo with it, add fancy effects or similar without 3rd part software. Can look perhaps a little TOO plasticky (but find if you're a geek like me or if it's for children). Though the foldable stalk is durable, it is "stuck on" your monitor by a sticky pad on the logo. This started becoming loose after 5 minutes and came off totally the first time I had to point the camera elsewhere. I now have it superglued on (that works for a while). The USB cable it brings is too short for the fact it's going to be put on a monitor, unless you put it on the side next to a usb port if your monitor has it. I have it placed near the middle of my 20" Dell widescreen, which has 2 USBs on the left and 2 more underneath - the USB doesn't reach and required a (not included) extension cable.

Overall: despite some flaws, it does its job, and looks quite cool (for me and my geek friends' standards) and am happy I bought it.
