Last year this Logitech steering wheel set was 250+
I have now bought it for the price of 169.99 which is a great price for the Quality you get from Logitech.

Firstly the force feedback is quite realistic and on systems like PS3 the game settings allow you to change it to your preference so it suits you which is a plus.

The quality of the steering wheel is very good, not to mention the leather on it has been hand stitched, it feels robust and has a titanium frame which is great.

The gear stick is also firm and does what its supposed to.

Lastly the pedals are great! A few months back people were on about how they feel light and easy to push, well now its like a real car. The break and clutch require a bit more force which adds to the realism of this set.

I also felt assured buying this because of the quality of Logitech customer service which is apparently excellent.

You wont regret buying this because it is the best at the moment for the price you are paying. There are cheaper alternatives but theres no point in buying those, because just for a little extra you get the whole set which is one of the best on the market. And all new racing games will be compatiable with this so theres no need to worry.
if your going to spend a lot of time racing and you want the true experience, spend that little extra and get the G27. Not forgetting Logitech's Customer Support is second to none, should you need it.

  Great Product

This replaced an old Thrustmaster Wheel (Ferrari GT Experience) and immediately the difference in quality is mindblowing. It feels completely solid, no wheel wobble as can be found on many cheaper wheels. The pedals are something else ... They feel better than my car! The brake in particular gives some resistance as you push it, making it true to life. The RPM LED indicators are great for help in gear shifting.

In F12010, this wheel has enabled me to go nearly 1 second a lap quicker on some circuits, the feel/responsiveness of it is that good...

Only 1 slight negative, the H Pattern shifter/dpad unit feels a lot cheaper than the rest of this unit. I feel I could punish this wheel for years, but am not so sure the shifter would last as long as the rest of the kit.

To sum up, if you want something that feels great, looks great and will help you improve your laptimes, then get this wheel. You won't regret it!

this wheelis amazing if the have proper acing games
like shift 2 coming out tomorow or lfs or RFactor this wheel is amizing but i would not recomend spending all the money on this wheel if you only play the more miner games that dont haves as real grifics no mater force feedback which will not be very good because you want games with higher grafics that also send much better ff

Great Wheel - But Not Perfect.

I bought this wheel for the PS3. The steering is very accurate and the pedals are very precise in the application of force. Only real complaints I have are - 1. The clutch and brake pedals seems too close together. If you have large feet it is easy to hit both pedals at once when you are trying to brake. - 2. You can't map the buttons to different settings if the game you are playing doesn't allow it. You have no internal setting for the buttons. For instance, you can't map any of the buttons when playing GT5. GT5 does not support the G27 and has no method for button mapping. - 3. The gear change paddles can't be used as accellerator and brake, as they are simple on/off switches. So if your game allows for button mapping, all you get is 100% acceleration or brake power. The paddles have no progressive application of force.

The wheel is well built and feels very solid. You have to mount it on something firm. It does not come with any attachment for using on your lap.

Overall a good wheel setup, but I don't feel able to give it 5 stars.

What they said!
I use mine for the PS3 and is set up on on a desk and is very good, the pedals do not slip at all on carpet.
Had it about a year now and no problems with it so far :-)

  best wheel money can buy!

let's get this straight, the market for wheels is probably, all things considered pretty good, logitech do some cheaper options, and thrustmaster have a few decent offerings, and then it boils down to what and why you wish to purchase a wheel.

if you are a casual gamer, by that i would mean GTx, GRID, Dirt and anything in between where the car physics are more atuned to sticking to the road and bouncing off things, then i would honestly say the g27 is only worth looking at if u are extremely flush or just have to own the greatest product going, because this, everybody is it! those who just wish to get that jensen button feel (and instant success) from the games where it is trying to give instant gratification rather than actual car physics and real-world levels of grip etc, then you will be just as happy with any of the 60-120ukp offerings, and save the extra ukp100 for something else.

but, if you take your sim-racing seriously, and now i'm talking IRACING.COM, or maybe R-Factor/GTR type games, then one seriously should just bite the bullet and purchase this bad-boy!! the FF is as good as anything, the wheel unit is compact and the desk grip systems are simple and amazingly effective, it even lets you choose how to arrange the wiring with gulleys to run the cords out of the main unit to keep it all neat! wheel has 900 degrees of rotation which is just ridiculous but that's what this wheel does, and obviously means its super-smooth around the 120degs you'll use the most, and don't need any in-software 'increase/decrease sensitivity with lock' type feature on. it's leather bound and the perfect size, the paddles are perfect, oozing of quality and make you feel like you could change gear 10million times and they'll still feel like new.

the pedals are huge, robust and the logitech website even gives a fixing diagram complete with the screw types to use, so one can mount to a bit of ply that pushes up against the wall or whatever for no movement.. although having said that the sheer bulk and the grippers (a carpet 'spiked' gripper is actually held in with a clip spring so one can have it in play or not) makes sure it wont go far anyhow. the feel is great, and logitech have even gone to the lengths of having the pedal plates screwed to the pedal stalks, so one can unscrew and increase either height/side-to-side of any pedal, so if you want to heel-n-toe a bit easier, simply move the brake over left a little.

the shifter, is immense, it's like a real car - all 6 racing gears and even a reverse gate - found by pushing down on the shifter and going 'under' 6th gear.. so if you're fix is racing road/race cars that fully use/utilise a 6-speed gate gearbox, you'll be in heaven! but if you're fix is more for race cars that have paddle, semi-auto or just 4 gears, you may well find the shifter a bit overkill.. i for one would probably have decided against buying the shifter should logitech have offered the wheel/pedal set only for 175-200ukp...

not sure what else to say, it just gets to the point of wondering whether the shifter or pedals could be force fed as well, although nothing as yet fully supports this that i know of.. it works first time exactly how you'd expect and comes with 2yr guarantee which should make one feel better about the price tag.. jump in and do it!! only downside in terms of play.com - the price cant be beat from what i can see - but the large price-tag means they'll insist on delivery to card holder address, and if no-one is in most of the time you might well be looking at a depot pickup from their delivery partner, which is understandable but a little bit annoying all at once.

all in all, it cant be beat.. build quality will last you years.. do it!!!

  An Incredible Wheel

There are so many racing wheels on the market, all with their disadvatages and advantages, But if you want an all round brilliant wheel you can not go wrong with a G27.

The wheel is strong, robust and precise. Made from steel and real leather it feels, looks and performs great. The pedals are something very special, great resistance on each one and the feel of a real car.
I use a G27 on Pc, in games such as Race Driver Grid and Test Drive Unlimited. The Force Feedback is amazing and every single thing can be altered to suit your needs, sensitivities, pressures, degrees of rotation, dead zones and force.

However all this comes at a price, but if your going to spend a lot of time racing and you want the true experience, spend that little extra and get the G27. Not forgetting Logitech's Customer Support is second to none, should you need it.
