I bought this laptop from play.com after doing a fair amount of 'homework'. In my opinion it's definately worth paying the extra fifty pounds and getting this model over the 2010sa or 2020sa. The 2030sa includes a discrete ATI HD4530 graphics card that makes all the difference if you enjoy playing the occasional game on your laptop; and the extra gigabyte of RAM doesn't hurt either!
The laptop definately punches above it's weight and is able to outperform an equivalent Intel Core2 Duo (T8300 @ 2.4GHz) although it's worth noting that the AMD Turion II's power efficiency isn't quite as good, so that the battery does run down sooner than you'd like; however I suspect this shortcoming is only likely to be significant if you spend long periods away from a wall socket. Also consider that this laptop (with it's gorgeous15.6" screen) although not heavy, isn't the kind of thing you really want to tote around - it's a mobile desktop replacement.
There are quite a lot of connectivity options (HDMI, VGA, 4 USB ports, etc.); hard to get excited over but useful nonetheless!
I was pleasently surprised to find that although the fan is noticable, I didn't find it irritating or distracting - infact I was expecting it to be louder as powerful as the system is. The system also runs pretty cool although that may be because it's December and the ambient temperature is lower than it would be otherwise?
Out of the box the laptop comes with the usual pre-installed software/junk - just remember to uninstall Norton completely and replace with free + lightweight 'AVAST' and you're pretty much good to go (also I can recommend getting rid of Microsoft Works and replacing it with the much better and free 'OpenOffice'). Other than that theres nothing much to complain about, the Windows 7 installation is competant with decent drivers from HP. HP also supplies some surprisingly decent Advisor / Diagnostic software for 'regular/non-technical' PC users and media software. I didn't care much for the accompanying ad-supported games but haven't gotten round to uninstalling them yet - I suppose they might appeal to casual gamers?
I've tried quite a few games (nothing especially recent although several released over the past year or two) and the laptop performed very well at 'good to high' resolutions; see YouTube for examples of the HD4530 and the lesser HD4330 to get an idea of the system's capabilities.
Did I mention the 2030sa is a beautiful laptop to behold? The build quality is simply first class; the only negative point worth mentioning is that the laptop is a real finger print magnet - you'll need to get used to the fact that it's going to look 'smudgy' in various light conditions unless you're prepared to wipe it down periodically.
