I have an original PS3 60GB. The HD now full put me in the search for another HD. I picked the Samsung 640GB over the others. Backed up my system to my external drive swaped the HD in the PS3 (This was very easy. Tip use a quality philips scewdriver) Switched system on re installed from saved system settings which takes over an hour. All done HD very quite and me very happy. 10/10 For the HD samsung.
I've had a similar problem with my standard 120GB HD, but my good friend has already upgraded 2 the 640GB HD and I am well impressed with how it performs so I've orderd the same but it's out of god DAMN stock. I suppose it just goes 2 show how good this HD is, hope it comes in soon
Great little hard drive with BIG storage and prompt delivery. This was the easiest upgrade I have ever completed. Just back up to an external drive (fat32 format) replace the hdd and re-install the back up, easy peasy. The storage will show at just under 600gb because of file allocation issues. However 40gb to 600 gb is an impressive and cost effective upgrade. Do it !!
Bought this at same time as a new PS3 Slim to replace my old fat PS3 and it installed easily into the Slim (Sony made the hard drive on the Slim even easier to replace than on the original PS3) and formatted just fine. Good price for a large capacity and well made hard drive. Very happy with my purchase.
If you need an upgrade to your PS3's hard drive then this is the one for you.
Easy to install.
Luckily I got it before its slight price increase, but its still a great hard drive.
