well what can i say, was really dubious about tinkering with my beloved ps3 as im not all that savvy with computing stuff,but i only had a 40 gb hard drive so was constantly deleting things like demos and music, so i thought lets give it a go.but if i was going to upgrade then i might as well go big,hence the 640gb.installing was a breeze,i just followed one of the many tutorial vids on youtube.just used a 16gb usb stick to back up my files from ps3 after i deleted most of the stuff on it.took about 30 mins to back up.replaced the drive then restored files back onto ps3.....job done....results after 2 days heavy use are good,drive is just as quiet as before with NO cluncking or grinding noises,isnt over heating(ps3 cool to touch).so im mega happy with my huge amount of storage and the price for such a big upgrade.buy buy buy
i bought this to boost my memory space for music and movies, and it is a BRILLIANT buy!!, the minor problem is that ps3 will not automactically recognise it, beacuse it is a blank drive..DON'T WORRY, all you got to do is on a pen drive, download the system software (with the latest software from PS website) and put it into the pen drive and connect it to the PS3, then follow the instructions on screen!!
