 Great product

I did a lot of research before buying this and I'm not disappointed with my purchase. The item is great.

Small, light and smart
No power cable needed

I've been transferring files to and from work for the last month and have had no problems with the unit. Highly recommended.

 Easy once you know how

I bought this external hard drive to back up all the photos on my Mac laptop, I was impressed by its lightweight, small size, though it came without any instructions. However it is simple enough, just plug in the USB. What happens next (on a mac) is it will ask you if you want to use Elements as Time Machines back up, it will also say that in order to set it up you must delete everything on Elements to make it 'compatible' with your mac and that this cannot be undone once deleted. This worried me slightly, so first of all I put elements onto the desktop and tried dragging and dropping + copying and pasting files straight onto elements, however this did not work.
In the end I decided to go for it and just delete everything on elements via the Time Machine way and this worked straightaway and started backing everything up trouble free. It backed silently and took just under 2 hours for the whole lot to be backed up.
So, if you have a Mac, just follow the instructions that pop up via Time machine as soon Elements is plugged in and do as they say and delete everything on Elements to make compatible then you are home free, simple once you know how. Defo 5 stars :):)

Just to answer your ps3 related question. This hard drive is supplied formatted to the ntfs file system. To use it with ps3 you would need a pc to reformat it to FAT32 file system. After that you can attach it to your ps3 and use it to play movies, music and photos on your ps3 but I'm not sure about downloaded games.

Not a review, I know, but...

It looks fantastic, and at a price like that it's a total bargain, but I was wondering before I buy one, will it store data for the PS3? In which I mean can I put downloaded games into it, and play them from the device? On the PS3 of course.

 Micro USB, not Mini USB

This drive has a micro USB socket & cable, dispite the photo showing a mini USB. (I think only the older models come with mini)
I know this makes a difference to some people, so i thought i'd mention it.
I was hoping for a mini, but whatever, it still works fine.
