Hardware:
Processor: Cortex A8 1GHz Hummingbird. Internal memory: 2GB plus a 16GB microSD card, 802.1b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a 3-megapixel camera on the back, and several sensors (accelerometer, automatic lighting, etc.measures 7.48" x 4.74" x 0.47" and weighs 13.58 ounces. The capacitive touch screen is WSVGA TFT (600x1024), and seems about as bright and sharp as the iPad
I would ignore the other review, this tablet is the best on the market at the moment and blows the Ipad out of the water for several superior reasons;
Ipad and the Galaxy share: 1ghz processor, multitasking, bluetooth, 30pin dock, ebooks reader.
Galaxy is superior: more customisable Operating System with thousands of free aps, a task manager and better use of screen. 3.2mp rear camera, 1.3mp front camera. acts as a phone on bluetooth or speakerphone, has flash support for web browsing, is lighter, more portable. double the RAM (short term memory). expandable storage up to 32gb. videocalling over wifi or 3G. Video playback includes DivX, XviD etc. no sync needed with itunes. copy and paste from any PC. HD video 1080p playback (raw bluray files). HDMI Out screen to HDTV. has GPS navigation (ipad only over 3G network, not 'official' GPS!). Cheaper. Useable Office programs - edit word execel, open PDF, on-the-go email, outlook sync and many more android adaption options.
Ipad is superior: larger (if you prefer), resolution : 1024 x 768 (galaxy is 1024 x 600 - barely any different). 64GB onboard storage in larger model. Arguably more stable system.
My view: Clearly despite fanboy popularity and "loyalty", Galaxy Tab is the superior tablet. HD video output to a HDTV, working on business documents, conference calling, on-the-go always-on internet, plays more file types, more free applications available, more customisable, upgradable storage option, phone option, drag and drop with any PC... I can't see how this is not the choice for business or leisure. Having used both the Ipad and the G.Tab, the screens are about as bright and sharp as eachother and given the amount the Galaxy can do I enjoyed the experience far more.
Recommended - apple has a lot to do to catch up with this beast, but 4 Stars because the price is rediculous. Curry's had it at 429 quid, earler this month, wait till January for the sales!
