I bought this to replace an aging Pixma IP4200 and so far the results are very good.
From unpacking the printer to being able to use the print/scan functions was a little over 20 mins, when folowing the instructions carefully on a Mac, of which about 5-6 mins was the printer doing its self test and head alignment checks. I'm using the printer wirelessly (although it has USB built in too) on a network of PCs and Macs. Entering the wifi details was a little fiddly using the iPod style click wheel to enter text, but it connected quickly. The built in LCD is bright and clear.
Print quality ids very good for text and photos, althought he use of good quality paper is recommended to avoid "bleed". Print quality on CDs and DVDs is also very good.
Scan quality is also crisp and clear, although maybe a little lghter than the original.
Overal, a very good and well priced multi function printer.
