 Yay flight sims are go!

This joystick is aimed at flight sim control, it has a good balance between sensitivity and response. A number of fire buttons triggers, thumb, finger (side plates of joystick) and even a throttle control. Reversible hand rest for left or right handed players. Supports XYZ (YAW by twisting the joystick) movement.

Its not all good though, the throttle control is for me anyhow in a awkward position at the rear of the joysticks base plate. I guess it was put here to make it right and left handed friendly. But all it seems to be is non accessible as your arm naturally covers it. The three top thumb triggers can sometimes jam up when you move your thumb from the shaft to the buttons catching a button on the way.

Saying all that, this is one of the best joysticks I have owned and is highly recommended, but if you need/want a good throttle control Id say try another joystick. If the throttle isn't a major concern this joystick does indeed rock.

Great joystick...after 2 weeks it broke. Saitek claim it doesnt need calibration but my sights are pulling up terribly and i have tried all suggested methods of fixing it. Time to return and buy a logitec i guess.

 Gr8 Purchase

Bought two of these for my brothers not really knowing what to expect as i'd never used one before. It is used on battlefield 2 for the flight and basically does exactly as it says on the tin. Gr8 control in jet planes.. Very akward in helicopters though if thats what you like in the game but thats down to the player not the joystick really. So for a first time users of joysticks in games like battlefield, who don't know what to expect, its really ideal and great value for money.

 Build Quality Issues

I bought this for playing IL2-1942, but after a short time, I noticed the calibration used to *float*, which I've now heard more and more is a common issue. The stick seems to uncalibrate itself, so mid-game, will keep pulling up, meaning I have to almost push the stick fully forward just to keep the plane straight. Calibration in Control Panel confirms this when it happens, then it will return to normal.

I did try opening the product and made sure all Y axis connections / earthing was secure, worked for a little but now back to usual playing up. I've reinstalled all latest drivers, but it still remains unstable. Saying this, a friend of mine bought the same product around the same time as me and hasn't experienced a problem. A lot of specific IL2 forums do highlight the issue however, which is a shame because it's great looking and comfortable!
