bought these as my router is upstairs and my wd media streamer is downstairs connected to the tv, the wi-fi signal is not strong enough to stream hd movies to the wd without freezing and stuttering. read all the positive reviews and though i would give them ago. first off setup was instant, didn't even have to pair up the two devices a they were already paired up straight out the box. plugged one into my router then into a surge protected extension lead then went downstairs plugged the other into my media player and into another extension lead and that was it, job done. i can now stream full 1080p movies no problem and i can watch iplayer in hd without any freezing or stuttering. i'm getting nearly 20mb/s on my pc with a wired connection from my router and wondered what speed i could get from the powerline adapter i had plugged in downstairs, dug out my old pc connected it up to the powerline adapter downstairs, did a quick speed test and the connection was exactly the same as i get from my pc upstairs ( amazing ). also tried it on my sky hd box and anytime plus works perfect. cannot recomend these enough.

the product is perfect, it comes with two short ethernet wires, so you have everything you need.
you HAVE to plug directly into the wall socket, not into an extension (expansion) lead.
it works as if you are directly connected to your modem.....

They weren't joking when they said these were plug and play. They work a treat and I can game on my xbox with full green bars and stream transcoded mkv's using mezmo just fine with no stutters.

I would have given this item 5 stars, but they were let down by the 2 supplied ethernet cables which were approx half a metre in length, this is not ideal. I ordered 2 3 metre flat ethernet cables from ebay in the end for a fiver.

Brought this on the reviews below and to solve the varying speeds in WiFi over 3 floors. On WiFi I would receive between 3.5 - 5.0 out the of 10Meg through Cable Broadband.

From un-boxing to turn on and running a speed test in five minutes. BBmax speed test now shows 10Meg.

Bought this as I had poor wifi signal in my upstairs room. It gives me 30mb download speeds the same as plugging directly into a router. I also have a shed at the end of my garden and it let's me have Internet there which is 60 meters from the house. Very good product.

Because of the position of the router in my house, it means that our living room is always suffering from lack of decent internet reception

When we bought ourselves some security cams, the WiFi wouldn't stretch to give us access to control the cam in the living room

Thes little powerline adaptors really were plug and play. I struggle with the most basic of things, and these weren' hard to set up

Plug one ethernet in the router, and in to TPLink plug 1, and plug it into a wall socket OR extension socket.

Plug the other in the other room wall (or extention - tried 3 ways - wall to wall, wall to extension, extension to extension, and all equally good) and ethernet it to your device (tried it on the security cam, a laptop and my Xbox360). Press the little button on one of the homeplugs, and within 2 mins, press the same button on the other plug (to sync them) and you're off and running!

Perfect speeds as if I was plugged into the router directly.

I have been using wireless for my ps3 as my computer is downstairs and since i live low down the speed and signal isn't that good even for tv. I would have to buy a 20ft ethernet cable to get a wired connection upstairs to my ps3 so after searching around i came across these at 30 pound from play.com and checked reviews for ps3s and saw someone bought for xbox 360 so i decided to go ahead and buy these as argos were arouind 60-70 pounds for one. Since i have set-up these i would never go back to wireless there excellent and so easy to set up and now i finally have a wired connection for my ps3 which is upstairs. If your like me and looking for a wired connection without bying a 20ft ethernet cable the i cannot recommend these enough. 10/10.

Arrived very quickly and had them working within 2 or 3 minutes. One of my best buys in a long time. Price was good too! I will probably buy another pair soon. My son plays computer games on line and he is very happy as well.

Was a bit apprehensive about these but I ended up taking the plunge as I was tired of running a huge Ethernet cable through the house to get internet connectivity to my PS3 and PC. Plugged them in, worked straight away, no hassle what so ever. Checked on speedtest to see my ping and internet speed, it was maxing out with 36 ping, really chuffed!
