Upgraded to this from a zotac 9800GT 1GB and simply put, this blows my old 9800GT out of the water! MASSIVE improvement on everything (games wise), PhysX on most games (including Mafia 2) i can have up on High settings, which on a 9800GT was impossible without a framerate of about 5fps lol My system in general runs a lot quicker now ive got this installed also.
Temperature wise, the card runs at a cool 30c while Idle, The highest ive seen it climb to was around the 50c mark but this was while playing games. This is a massive improvement on the temperatures i was used to seeing my 9800GT run at, 70c-90c while playing games lol
Power requirements wise, to run this comfortably your going to look at having around a 600watt power supply to be honest. It MAY work with a 400watt, but i wouldnt recommend it myself. It needs a power supply that can provide at least 24amps through its 12V rail (your power supply will say on the side of it what it is capable of) so check that first, and if it is less than 24amps on its 12v rail then you will need to buy a new power supply or this card will essentially blow out your current one lol. In general 600w/700w power supply's tend to have 12v rails capable of the 24amps required, but do check when buying!
i would genuinely give this 5 stars, but because of the high power requirement (and thus, most likely a need of a new power supply to go with the card) im going to have to shave a star off and give it 4.
verdict: Brilliant card & would highly recommend it, just as long as you heed my advice about your power supply first!
