Ok 1 TB of memory is great and you will be able to store all you need. But if you just happen to move the hard drive when you are backing up your computer it disconnects. Any time you touch or move the item it disconnects.
he usb 3.0 connection into my laptop is fine but the connection into the hard drive is hideous.
Use you money on another item with a better connection into the hard drive.
If you are fed up with plugging in external hard drives to the mains and/or want more space, a portable hard drive with just one USB lead is the way to go. Make sure you get a USB3 for future speed as the price differential between USB3 and USB2 is very small. I have lots of different makes so that I can easily locate my files and the latest, this Toshiba, is as good as any, working fine on ALL my computers.
