I have had this printer since my daughter was born 3 months ago, and it has done its fair share of photo printing, as you can imagine.

It was bought mainly to print photos and I cannot fault those I have printed. They are fantastic quality, and compare very favourably with other digital photos that I previously had printed by Asda's photo lab. It may be worth noting that my prints have all been done using HP's own paper and inks. This may not be the most economical way of printing, but I am more interested in the quality of the prints, which I think it excellent.

Photo printing can be done 'standalone' without having to switch your PC on, if you have the pictures saved onto a USB flash drive or a camera memory card. This is well implemented via a photo printing wizard, and is the easiest way to print off your photos. Copying can also be done standalone, and is equally as easy. I have not used it as a scanner, so I can't comment on that.
