18 Programmable Buttons of the left hand side of this keyboard is great when you can get use of them. Really come into play when you play games that support macro-able buttons as these keys in a single stroke save you valuable time when gaming.
Also good for music and movies. I'm using this to control the sound on my laptop, simple as pi.
Typing in the dark? pretty likely you may want to do this. 3 modes of light coming from all of the keyboard keys (blue, brighter blue and the famous "no light" that i assume your keyboard already has).
Anyway, the software is so simple a child could macro and create shortcuts on the "G" keys. Quite an impressive array of options and the finish of the software just speaks of Logitek's awesome quality with all their products. 2 USB ports that you can plug whatever you want into on the keyboard. Mute button, forward and back buttons for music etc, stop and play, volume wheel (*top of the keyboard, centre), nice wrist rest that isn't foam but a plastic detatchable rest that helps for better typing.
Sturdy build, brilliant key sensitivity and all-round the best keyboard on the market for any money.
If you are looking at the G15 its much the same as this one but with less programmable buttons, higher price tag and a seemingly superfulous LCD display pannel that displays a few random bits of info. I wouldn't say that the G15 is the best for gaming as the LCD pannel distracts you from your screen, a hinderence rarther than a help. The G11 has more practical use with more "G" buttons that can do whatever you want, and also a lower price tag.
Well worth the money, don't skimp on a keyboard you'll regret it!!!

Nice Little Features Make This a Winner.

Top 100 PC Reviewer

Elegant design, backlit keys, customisable keypads, media player controls (play, stop, skip, volume control, mute) and two added USB ports on the top of this keyboard make it simply a PC users dream! The wrist support rest which clips on and off helps reduce strain and the buttons are pleasnt to type with. I'm using it while typing this and I could go on and on because it feels so elegant!

Highly recommended.

 Precision.

What an excellent keyboard, easy to type on, day or night! When the keys are lit up its great, not to mention how cool it looks. The macro keys are great and i have on managed to us 20! 34 left. The only downside to this keyboard is the USB ports, it will support some memory sticks and other backwards compatible devices. Overall very nice and comfy to use, buy one now!

 An Excellent Keyboard

The G11 is by far the best keyboard I have owned to date. As well as looking rather nice, the functionality is also spot-on.

The keys are very smooth and relatively quiet, and the backlighting works perfectly with no bleeding around the edges of the keys. Its not just handy for using the keyboard in the dark either, as it enhances your ability to see the keys regardless of the lighting conditions.

The multimedia keys are relatively standard these days, though it is nice that the volume control is a dial instead of buttons which allows for more precise control. The ability to disable the Windows key is also quite handy for the gamers among us.

The G (macro) keys are also a great addition. Using the included software you can perform almost any function at the press of a single button. Don't be fooled into thinking this is only useful in gaming either, as automated macros can be handy in many other areas too.

It is true that the G11 is a fair bit larger than a standard keyboard, so size may be a consideration for some people. However, I found that it was only 1" larger than my old Logitech 'Internet Navigator' keyboard. So, if you already have a keyboard with a bunch of extra buttons on it, chances are that the G11 wont be much larger.

Of course the G11 doesn't have the LCD screen of the G15, but lets be honest, is that screen really necessary? A nice novelty maybe, but I honestly didn't see any long-term value in it. Losing the screen in favour of a better looking keyboard with more G keys and blue backlighting (as opposed to orange) is a small price to pay, in my opinion.

So if you want a reasonably priced keyboard which looks great and has excellent functionality, consider the G11. You won't be disappointed.

 Awesome

Taking the place of my saitek eclipse (great keyboard) after a misfortune, i bought the g11.
It is by far one of the best keyboards i have ever had, when buying, beware of the size of it, it is pretty big, but it is definetely worth the cash
