Well firstly to everyone whose said it doesn't work, or doesn't install properly, must have been doing it wrong, I followed the simple 4 step guide given in the booklet that comes with the camera plugged the camera in and it was fully ready to use. Was an easy installation process, comes with everything you need, so definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a new webcam.
I have had this camera for a couple of years now and it produces a good quality picture and good quality sound on my Windows XP desktop.
If I remember correctly, I did have some trouble with the supplied drivers - but was able to find alternatives easily on the net.
The only negative I have is that the lights cannot be turned off - which means that if you leave it plugged into the PC they automatically come on when it gets dark - even if you're not using it.
well i suppose in a way i cant really review the product - that being because i could never get it to work!!!
there is no software that works on my pc the drivers arent right for XP and i cant get them from anywhere.
im not an idiot with technology - i built my own PC! i think i should be able to get a cheapy camera to work - no such luck - in the rubbish where this belongs.
This camera appealed to me because it looked good and had the low light function. However, once I plugged it in things went wrong. I first tried the camera on my home PC that was running XP Media Centre and all seemed fine to begin with, if you can excuse the feedback I got during webcam chats over MSN. After a while my PC began to behave erraticly and would hang for no reason, reboot itself or programs would stop responding. I could only link this behaviour to the webcam, and its software, because that was the last thing I had installed before my PC began to play up. I tried to uninstall everything related to the webcam to see if my PC would behave itself again but unfortunately the software would not uninstall itself, and I couldn't get rid of it using the options in Control Panel. Aaaaargh!!!! In the end I reformatted my hard drive and installed Vista (I wanted to upgrade anyway). I then gave the camera another go to see if it would work with Microsofts wonderful new OS. Did it work? No. Of course it didn't. So, if you're after a decent webcam DON'T get this one. Mine has gone in the bin and I'm going to get one from good old MS.
