Another excellent product from Freecom just plug and go, but if you need a drive without external power try Freecom Mobile Drive XXS 160GB External USB2.0 Hard Drive which is also excellent buit slightly slower transfer ( hardly noticable)

Haven't brought this item yet but look into buying, does the external hard drive need to be plugged into a mains plug socket or does it gain it's power from a USB port? I need one for college and a mains plug is not always available, so preferably I wouldn't want a mains plug in one...
