the other reviews are just perfect and explain everything about the g25..
what i want to add, because i was a bit wary before to spend so much money, is about ps3 compatibility.
what you do is connect the electricity plug to the main and the usb to the ps3.. it calibrates itself and switches automatically between 200 and 900 degrees modes (colin mcrae dirt is 200 and granturismo is 900)
if a game supports a steering wheel, it will support the g 25.
check back of single boxes.
you may need to customize some buttons to your needs.
in nfs pro street, for example, it will come up the actual image of the g25 to show you the buttons.
in gran turismo prologue and hd go under the driving force pro settings and set the controls you like.
the 2 red buttons on the wheel are l2 and r2, while the 4 red buttons over the gearstick are, from left to right, l3,select,start,r3..
the only game i found compatible with the 6 gear gate has been granturismo 5 prologue, even if i didn't find a use for the clutch pedal, maybe because i have the japanese version of the game..
switching from the gate to the sequential gearstick mode is easy: press the stick down and turn the big grey switch the other side.
a led goes on in sequential mode.
for best driving i suggest to use the paddles only..
to show off and do 4th to 2nd or 5th to 3rd or anything you fancy, use the gate..
compatible with all new dualshock 3 updates.
if you have a ps3 and you like driving games, don't waste your money in cheap wheels, breaking the pedals after 2 hours..
this is the best on the market, looks good, feels perfect and you can use it also un pc.
with games like granturismo you fully appreciate how good the game really is when you have a g25 and someone bumps on your back, sending the car on one side, and turning the wheel on the other side..
and you can turn back full force, with no fear of dislocating the wheel from the base..
especially now, with all the online races available, you will see your fellow racers driving shaking cars due to their dpad driving stile, and knowing to be in control of a smooth strong wheel gives you that much more confidence to reach for the first corner, keep the gas up, kiss the brakes, and nail the poor guy on the edge of the tarmac..
i know it will make harder my life online, and that neither logitech nor play.com will ever compensate me for all this publicity, but raising the competitiveness and the interest for this top spec item seemed to me more than natural, in favour of all the other people that have a ps3 and, like me, love granturismo and driving games in general.
enjoy the games and drive safe in the real world.
gaming could actually save lives, after all..
