Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE FOR HARDCORE RACER!!!!!!!

Catlin | 06/09/2007 | See all Catlin's reviews (6) »

Im going to be getting one of these bad boys at end of this month,I always wanted to get one since i heard about it.I had the chance to have a go on one for the first time, and i loved it!!!!!

The force feedback is perfect for feeling like your really on the road,The clutch pedal is great for those heel-toe drifts and the pedals are spo sturdy you dont feel like your going to brake them.
The wheels 900 degree angle makes this the best of its kind, and it kills the driving force pro in all areas.
The games i would recomend playing with this are:

Live For Speed
GTR2
GTR1
GT Legends
Rfactor

Probably the best games out there for racing anyway.
I love how this thing has hand stitched leather around the wheel and the gear shifter.
Everthing is just amazing about this wheel,i can understand alot of people not buying it because of its extreme price but if your into your racing and your gadgets this is a must have and will be much better that the driving force pro which is about £100.

I cannot stress enough how good this wheel is,You really need to try it if you can before making an extreme buy like this but its great fun to have.

I hope you can get one and maybe see you online with live for speed!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars ps3, granturismo and g25..

pierpaolo | 12/01/2008 | See all pierpaolo's reviews (3) »

the other reviews are just perfect and explain everything about the g25..
what i want to add, because i was a bit wary before to spend so much money, is about ps3 compatibility.
what you do is connect the electricity plug to the main and the usb to the ps3.. it calibrates itself and switches automatically between 200 and 900 degrees modes (colin mcrae dirt is 200 and granturismo is 900)
if a game supports a steering wheel, it will support the g 25.
check back of single boxes.
you may need to customize some buttons to your needs.
in nfs pro street, for example, it will come up the actual image of the g25 to show you the buttons.
in gran turismo prologue and hd go under the driving force pro settings and set the controls you like.
the 2 red buttons on the wheel are l2 and r2, while the 4 red buttons over the gearstick are, from left to right, l3,select,start,r3..
the only game i found compatible with the 6 gear gate has been granturismo 5 prologue, even if i didn't find a use for the clutch pedal, maybe because i have the japanese version of the game..
switching from the gate to the sequential gearstick mode is easy: press the stick down and turn the big grey switch the other side.
a led goes on in sequential mode.
for best driving i suggest to use the paddles only..
to show off and do 4th to 2nd or 5th to 3rd or anything you fancy, use the gate..
compatible with all new dualshock 3 updates.
if you have a ps3 and you like driving games, don't waste your money in cheap wheels, breaking the pedals after 2 hours..
this is the best on the market, looks good, feels perfect and you can use it also un pc.
with games like granturismo you fully appreciate how good the game really is when you have a g25 and someone bumps on your back, sending the car on one side, and turning the wheel on the other side..
and you can turn back full force, with no fear of dislocating the wheel from the base..
especially now, with all the online races available, you will see your fellow racers driving shaking cars due to their dpad driving stile, and knowing to be in control of a smooth strong wheel gives you that much more confidence to reach for the first corner, keep the gas up, kiss the brakes, and nail the poor guy on the edge of the tarmac..
i know it will make harder my life online, and that neither logitech nor play.com will ever compensate me for all this publicity, but raising the competitiveness and the interest for this top spec item seemed to me more than natural, in favour of all the other people that have a ps3 and, like me, love granturismo and driving games in general.
enjoy the games and drive safe in the real world.
gaming could actually save lives, after all..

I too managed to pick one of these up at an amazing price of £99.99 due to a nice little promo that caught my eye. Exactly the same as RaceDriverAndy I wasn't planning on buying one of these at all but at that price I just couldn't turn it down. My story is very similar to Andy's as I too used the wheel for Grid and found it very difficult to get used to, I was all over the road, couldn't handle corner's and ended up last where as I was coming in the top 3 with the PS3 pad. The wheel slightly improved when trying NFS: Undercover, after a bit of practice I started to enjoy the wheel a lot more.
I wasn't planning on getting GT5 pro as I wanted to wait for the full ver. but I managed to pick it up for £9.99 from Play Trade and I'm so glad I did. The whole experience is breath taking, the force feedback in the wheel is so true to life, the resistance on the pedal's is very realistic but as I few people have said the Gear Stick is a little on the frail side but it takes nothing away from the overall experience.
I believe the strength of this wheel is defiantly when playing racing sim's rather than arcade racing games as the difference is quite significant.
This piece of kit is second to none and is worth every penny. A must buy if you're a massive driving/racing fan and I'd recommend it even if you're not. 5/5 no question!!!

I got this wheel for my birthday and it's great. The force feedback is strong but not rediculous and the pedals each have different strengths with the brake obviously being the strongest.

I have used it on:

GTR 2
GT Legends
Race 2007
Race 2006
Live For Speed
R-Factor (demo disc came with it)
Midtown Madness 2

It works very well on all these games and you definetly start to feel you're driving the car. All the buttons are programable which means you can choose what you want them to do. In my oppinion this steering wheel is well worth the money, it is made of good quality products which stand out from the rest.

My first steering wheel only cost £30 and you realised this straight away, it was all plastic and there was no feeling in the wheel whatsoever.

This product is top of the range. 10/10

I will start by saying I have had a couple of other wheels in the past and they do not even come close to this.
The wheel itself is rock solid and the leather an aluminuim materials real make it feel the business. It will mount solidly to any flat liped surface. The pedels feel great and the resistance levels for each are bob on with the accelerator accurately lighter than the break pedel. Again these are weighty and have carpet grippers so there is no danger of them slipping away from you. The only slight down side, as previous reviews have mentioned, is the gear shifter which does'nt seem to have quite the same build quality as the rest of the unit. That said, it does work perfectly and it doesnt cause any issues I have noticed thus far.
So far I have used this on Formula 1, Grid and GT Prologue. Of the three the handling feels most accurate with GT prologue and you can use the full 900 degree rotation. On other games like F1 where this is not needed it simply sets itself to use 200 degrees only. You will also have to use the flappy paddle gearbox rather than the gearstick for this as well as with F1 there are 7 gears to contend with.
All in all I would say for the price of £99 which I managed to get this for with the offer code I can safely say there is nothing else currently in the market place that compares.....dont believe me? Still think it is not worth the money? Just type in G25 and drifting on you tube and have a look for yourself.

This is one of the best racing wheel your money can buy, unless your rich. If your addicted to GTP and other racing games, this would make you even more addicted! Superb sensitivity, force feedback, gearbox, pedals. Really just takes you up a notch in gaming. Its at the top of the list of gaming peripherals. You will not have a full driving experience without it. Recomend for anyone who likes driving games. Its a must have and for the price of £130 compared ot £200 its a bargain!!! One of the best things ive bought this year for gaming!

Well, I managed to pick one of these up for £99.99 right here on Play when they were running a promotion. I wasn't even thinking about buying one to be honest, but at that price my interest was well and truely sparked! So I done a little searching on the web, and all I saw and read was nothing but good things. So I took the plunge and bought one (well, actually the gf bought it for me as an early bday prezzie!!).

Any way, about the product itself......It's fantastic, the build quality is really good, the only thing that I could possibly say is that the gearstick doesn't feel quite as good quality as the wheel or pedals. Although I have read about different mods you can do to make it feel firmer etc...but I don't think I'm gonna bother taking mine apart coz it isn't that bad to warrant me possibly breaking it ;)

I actually bought it as I've been playing GRID for quite some time and thought it'd be great for it, but I was wrong! Once you get used to it it isn't too bad, but to be honest when I first played it with the wheel I was rather disappointed! So I picked up myself a copy of Gran Turismo Prologue and WOWWWWW, the wheel really comes into a league of it's own on that game! I can't wait for the final version of Gran Turismo later in the year. I've had all my m8's round to give the wheel a go, and the outcome from all of them was they were very impressed! I even managed to get my mum to have a go, although she was god awefull at Gran Turismo she thought the wheel was great!

I haven't tried the wheel on the pc yet, but I'm pretty sure it'll be just as fantastic with a good racing sim.

So, if you're thinking about getting one of these and can't quite make your mind up, then I say just go for it, I don't think you'll be disappointed (well, you might if you're getting it just for GRID)!

All I need now is a racing seat to attach it too.....maybe for xmas ;)

Most deffinetly well worth every penny! I was wondering what wheel to buy and my friend said to get one like his...He paid about 30 pounds for his wheel. I played on his wheel and it felt like a toy and it felt like i was going to break it. I then saw the G25 bad boy and wanted it but the cost was stopping me. I then read the reviews and decided to take the chance since everyone loves it, ITS ALL TRUE. It feels solid, it is absalutly awsom! Everything about it looks and feels quality, built to last and feels real. My friend has now had ago on my G25 and has already ordered one lol.... G25 MUST BUY!
