like the title says, it is amazing. my only problem is the fact its missing bluetooth, but it has the button there for it, very odd indeed but still a great machine.
For the price, brilliant

Simply brilliant laptop for the price. I did a lot of looking around before buying and finally settled on this.
The integrated graphics makes a big difference on Vista as that means it is not eating into the 2gb ram.
Only slight negative is that the HD DVD drive is redundant (with Blu Ray looking the winner of that race).
Also take a look at some more detailed pictures to make sure the look is for you. I saw a lot of negative comments about the style, but i can't understand why as it looks awesome.
hd dvd?

I have in the past owned about 3 dozen consoles and computers. And pound for pound this is easily the best value for money i`ve ever paid for a system. Why u ask? Its a high spec machine for a bargain price. Its has a great overall build quality, good battery power, a bright screen and a built in subwoofer that has the best quality sound ive ever heard from a laptop. Never owned an acer before, but i wouldnt hesitate to buy another in the future. A great buy.
Not bad at all !

For a start this is an extremely competitive price for a laptop of this specification. The machine does not dissappoint. The graphics are dedicated so not shared into the motherboard. This allows supreme gaming. The centrino wireless premium is a godsend in that my connection is always brilliant and fast. Very quiet machine. The only down side i would say is that Vista demands a lot and maybe 2gb ram is pushing it a little and the pc is loaded with programs upon start-up, however thats down to the individuals choice. Overall two thumbs up. Replace the name Acer with Sony and you would expect to pay hundreds more.
Great Multi-Purpose Machine

Yes I know HD-DVD is dead, but this laptop is the best deal around for £500. The Graphics card works wonders Half life 2 and all the other orange box games run silky smooth. I did download the forceware drivers that were mentioned in the other reviews though.
It runs standard applications very well, however as with all Laptops nowadays it comes installed with a load of annoying programs which I uninstalled straight away.
Overall I would recommend this laptop to everyone who is looking for a practical, versatile machine, and at the moment of writing it appears to easily be the best Laptop deal on Play.
Don't forget HD-DVD is dead...

The overall spec of this laptop is dead, but I would say either wait for the Blu-Ray laptops to come down in price or buy an Acer without the HD-DVD, as you will be paying a premium for what is a dead technology.
As good as other higher Priced laptops

Top 100 PC Reviewer
Personally I think all laptops are overpriced for what you get, for example I could build a tower PC with better spec for £400 ish. Obviously for space saving reasons
A laptop may be required or if you need something mobile then a laptop may be your only option!
Right I am in IT for a career and I have seen a few laptops in my time, Dell, HP, Texas. Toshiba etc. There is some negative vibes and reviews out there for Acer quality and some nasty reviews for this particular laptop,. but equally some good 5 star reviews. One of the main gripes is its appearance. I don't care about this as I want a powerful all round laptop, so was not fussed. I recommend viewing this laptop at PC world then buying from Play.com if you like it. I guess its down to personal opinion but I thought its unique look is fantastic I love the shiny black outer shell and the creamy grey keyboard, nice change to your boring dull black typical laptops. The build quality all round is as good as any other laptop, nothing cheap & tacky here. I really like the Dell XPS high end laptops with their Glossy sharp screens, and I was really happy to see the Acer has one too as good as the Dells, I'm really impressed with it. Just like to point out a similar spec Dell laptop would cost £1000 after adding all the extra bits, there is no way I will spend over £1000 for any laptop. Word of warning there are a few versions of the Acer 5920 out there, this one at play is the best, its HD future proof! Others are not HD.
This is a powerful machine, and a all rounder, from internet to gaming. Watching movies on DVD is like watching them on Telly but with HD, FANTASTIC!
Battery life on average is about 3 and a half hours. All the extra hot key button
Are useful and the wireless network is great much more powerful then my old HP.
The only thing I can fault is there was no Driver disc or Windows Vista disc in the box. I know you can download drivers from the website. I will be emailing Acer about the Vista disc.
Overall this is a fantastic buy, but although cheaper then any other with regards to performance, I still feel its a lot of money. But aren't they all!
I can recommend this highly, and so far I have no regrets whatsoever.
PS: I forgot to mention the cool webcam feature, HDMI connection for your HD TV for movies, oh and vista chess.
laptop great

my dad bought this laptop to play bioshock on, as his other acer a ferrari 4005 would not play it, but the nvidia graphics card isn`t good enough like the previous report you have to visit laptopvideo2go to get them, but thats due to acer software upgrades not being upto scratch on acer website not the laptops fault otherwise this is a excellent laptop plays music and hd films ok, you get office2007 trial with it but we haven`t installed it has we dont use it and its got ms works anyway its a good price compared to other laptops with the same spec eg( sony )and just has good i know because i have got a sony costing over £1000. it is missing bluetooth but you can always use a usb dongle bluetooth if you really need it
