Can anyone me how to upgrade my machine so it can run faster.

I purchased one of these beauties and was thrilled to get it. When i got it set up and everything i noticed that it was quite slow, which it is really. I ordered 4gb of RAM for only £40 and the difference is amazing, £40 is nothing you can sell your old RAM for about £15-£20. So is this good? you bet it is good!!

First Things First, get the dispute out the way. Unfortunatly it is almost compulsory to purchase at least a 2GB stick from Play.com for this laptop as even with two 512's in, you're only recieving 786MB of ram. Not enough for any games etc. ( Apart from you oldschool gamers that only require 68GB of ram for your games! :) )

With that aside however, the price you pay for a 17" CrystalBrite LCD monitor is astonishing and UNMISSABLE. The processor surpasses my previous computer that i spent over £1000 of upgrades on. AMD Athlon(x2) is above standard and more than necessary for you gamers.

Vista Premium alone is roughly £150 - yet another UNMISSABLE offer. Extremely "cool" Aero visuals makes your desktop a great attention spot.

Maximum versatility, Optimum Usage. You really can't afford to miss the UNMISSABLE

I ordered mine having read all the reviews and expected that it would not be the fastest. It only has 768Mb of RAM not 1024 so as others has stated before you really should factor in the need / cost to upgrade. It looks great and the keyboard has a really good look and feel, Screen is very clear and huge compared to smaller 15" all in all worth the money, pity about the RAM.

Wow, who would think you can now get a 17" laptop with such a lovely screen too, for this price! It is essential to upgrade the memory though to 2gb at least - you should factor that in. Ok - a few corners have been cut, like the hard drive size and no reinstall disk - you have to write one yourself or use the image already reserved on the disk. Overall definitely 5 stars.

Ordered this laptop recently, received it within a a day as it was sent by ParcelForce 24 which was great. It is a great laptop for the price. Can be a bit slow at times, but after upgrading the RAM to 4GB you cant even notice. Great sound from this laptop as it has Dolby speakers which is amazing if your using it mainly to watch movies and listen to music on it. All in all, a great laptop, well worth the price.

This is a great present for someone, who neds a good trusty home computer. A fantastic price for teh speck of the laptop. It can forfill all of your everyday persons needs, from your work tasks to your casuall gaming. Not the best speed, there is the new MSI coming out which is more portable with similar speck, but it is a bit more expensive.
To sum up this machine, not the best computer for someone like me eho uses a computer to run powerfull games and programs, but if you are buying it as a gift for a person who does not use the computer an awfull lot an exellent machine.
