Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 700 V2 Keyboard and Mouse

This is probably the best review I'm ever going to write for a Microsoft product. With only a few cm distance between the keyboard and receiver I'm struggling to write just a few sentences here, meaning the signal strength is half as long as one of my number twos. This also means that after about a few days of regular use it then becomes weaker and disconnects every 5 seconds - literally! The only thing I can give the gruesome twosome is that they look nice and have a good feel which is why I gave them a 2 instead of a far more likely 1. So if you want to buy something of equal uses as my poo, then go ahead but be warned as this is a terrible product.

Bought this last year and use it for when I put my lap top on the desk, very good only needed to changed the batterys once since last november, worked fine and pretty much happy with this.

The keyboard in this product is nice, easy to use with a nice range of handy buttons at the top. Also the keys are nice sizes, not too small or too big, with good positioning.

However the mouse (even 2 Foot away from the reciever) suffers from conenction issues, and has a really poor battery life, i changed mine twice in a fortnight.

i got this product today and is quite gd although the range isnt very gd only about 4 ft before it doesnt work but the media keys are brill

its got about a 10cm range (the design is better compared to bulkier microsoft keyboards but the reciever is as big has the mouse) ,what else can i say ?

Please avoid this product at all costs. I have just returned my second faulty unit, and would not be bothered with the hassle or inconvenience of ordering another product. Two separate faults with both units, so please spend your money on something that will ACTUALLY do what it's supposed to.

Awful battery life, I change them perhaps every 2 weeks. The connection dies frequently, which makes typing a nightmare and causes the mouse to lag. I seem to be the only person with this problem though. I've tried all distances. The battery level indicator on the keyboard also does not work.

Best quality/price what can get. Very very good.
All button you need on keyboard and mouse is very nice to use too.

I think that this keyboard and mouse are excellent value for money.
No problems at all.

You can definitely tell this is a cheap piece. There is no weight to the mouse or keyboard, and the mouse muttons feel cheap and plastic. But considering the price this keyboard and mouse is fine. It will do me for a couple of years anyway.

Also, range not great on mouse, 4 feet maybe?
