Gigabyte GP-S4600 USB Powered Speakers

I suppose these are good value for money, and quality wise it does the basic job, but something which I was not expecting was...

...although the speakers are "powered" by USB, they do not actually transmit the sound from the PC/Laptop via the USA cable - the other cable needs to be plugged into the headphone socket also.

This wasn't ideal for me as my reason for purchasing the speakers was because my headphone socket was not working and I thought that using USB I would get around this - not so.

I kept them to use with my MP3 player though, so not completely useless I suppose.

I know, i know - these are £6 speakers but they are total rubbish. I use them to listen to music to really quietly in the office, and even at low volume levels they sound awful. They creak and distort and make all the noises unhappy speakers make. Seriously don't bother with these, i would send them back for a refund, but i think it would cost more to post them back than my refund would be... gutted :(

Bought these a few months ago to use for music & radio in work and was very surprised by the quality. Decent, well balanced sound, and very cheap as well.

For the price these are very good indeed. Volume and sound quality is amazing, far better than one would have a right to expect for so little outlay. I strongly suspect that the reviewers complaining of poor sound quality need to adjust the output on their computers.

Oviously these are basic speakers, however value for money is there. Sound quality is very clear, happy with my new speakers! :)
