It'll ship with Open Office, Firefox and Skype, but you can install any number of other open-source applications.
Other interesting specifications of the ASUS Eee PC 701 4GB include, Ethernet, camera and three USB ports. Additional storage space can be added by inserting a Secure Digital (SD) card

Bought this for 14yr old son and it is a great piece of kit. As long as you remember its not running windows and the hard drive is only 4Gig I dont see any probs. It comes with soft carry bag. I had the wireless internet working in a few minuites- we use talktalk broadband and a netgear wireless router. The linux software is fine once you have played with it a few times. So far my son has no complaints and he is the first to complain. I give it a well deserved 5 stars. Play.com was best price by far. Treat yourself you wont be disappointed.

This machine is so CUTE. Seriously, people coo over it, it's so cute. Random strangers will ask you about it in coffee shops, it's so cute.
Now, cute might not be top of your requirements list when you're buying a computer, but since this one is also cheap, useful and very very portable you'll probably fall in love with it in any case.
