I thought the idea of this was that it was to be an improvement over the previous model. Yes, the magnetic head is a very good idea and has saved my laptop numerous times when I have tripped over the cable. However, there is a significant weakness where the cable meets the magnetic head and my current one has reached the point of having to be twisted and tweaked in order to make a connection. But I need to use my MacBook Pro and so what alternative is there other than to spend this ridiculous price to purchase a new one? I only wish Apple would work on designing products that have a life of more than twelve months.
