The device comes with an external power supply, USB and Ethernet cables, utility cd and stand. The device is reasonably quiet but not so much that you wouldn't notice it in a room with no other IT kit.
Sharing is configurable via a web interface but out of the box it does pretty much eveything it should. FTP server capability.
On a 10/100 network the transfer rate is adequate. A 4.7gb DVD image takes approx 2min 30 seconds to transfer.
XBOX360 compatability is incomplete. Pictures and Music can be shared, video cannot (in any format).
Works well as an SMB share with XBMC for all file formats.
Comes with app to make incremental backups of PC according to schedule.
