The Aspire one is great for getting things done: whether you're checking your mail, managing your online bank account or chatting with friends, the Aspire one offers a simple, intuitive Linux interface that clearly organizes everything you need to surf, work or simply have fun. The pre-installed software is separated by functions and presented in 4 distinct areas on the screen - Connect, Works, Fun and Files - that is so simple it's impossible to get confused: the easier it is to get things done, the simpler it is to enjoy life.
Ergonomics and reduced dimensions do not mean the view isn't spectacular: the Aspire one has an 8.9" CrystalBrite LED backlit display with a resolution of

Re documents and spreadsheets, the Acer Aspire comes preloaded with OpenOffice, the Linux version of MS Office. The word processing, spreadsheet and presentation documents are all compatible with MS Office.
Bought one of these a few weeks ago, fantastic little netbook! No problems, battery life around 3hours, does what it says on the tin.
I have the Acer Aspire One N270 laptop with Windows XP, 120 GB hard drive and 1 GB memory. There are no operating disks supplied with this system and the only way to get arount this is a complete reinstall via the reset function within the built in operating system. It is a decent machine for it's size and I can run many programs on it. It does become a little slow and is loud in comparison to the Asus EEE. However, I am able to put any Windows program on it without any trouble. It is so light I take it to college and type up my notes in lectures. All in all well worth the expense without the back ache.
I am considering of getting one of these laptops for my school work, and a bit of browsing. This laptop basically comes with Linux, pretty much the same as Windows, maybe not with all the extra features though. Finally, it can you can get USB CD Drives etc...
Oh and one day they probably will, when? We don't know
I was just wondering if it had any microsoft programmes for example word and powerpoint and if it connected to a wireless home system.
