DVI doesn't carry sound, only video I'm afraid.
Not got a PS3 myself, but the only thing I can think of is using a HDMI to DVI cable for your video and then getting a cable that will connect from the back of your PS3 to the speakers in the monitor. Most likely a RCA audio to 3.5mm Cable, ( Search '3.5mm Jack To 2 x RCA Phono' [play do them] )

Just from reading the description I can see the monitor comes with a warranty.
Contact the manufacturer they will probably replace it because of the dead pixels.

Mine had 4 dead pixels. It's usable but still annoying. Otherwise the monitor is ok. The picture quality is similar to what you might expect. The screen is very adjustable and can be put in to portrait mode. The plastic casing is flimsy, but it's ok. I never tried out the speakers, so no comment there.

And to answer the comments about audio over DVI, there is no way of getting audio over DVI. The ATI Radeon HD2xxx series graphics cards have a DVI-HDMI converter which is what the original poster is refering too, but you need that graphics card for it and a special adaptor.

I am looking to get this for my PS3, I already own PlayTV so there isn't much point in getting an TV as I don't need an tuner, plus I am running Ubuntu on it so need a screen with a hi-res like this one has (1080p).

What I would like to know is can this monitor get sound though DVI? so if I get an HDMI to DVI adapter and plug in the HDMI cable from the PS3 will the sound come out of the monitor speakers?

Just thought I'd clear up that bit of misinformation so you avoid disappointment.. Feel free to Google it for yourself.

Only time I've ever heard of it being possible is with a few ATi graphics cards and even they use special dongles to make it possible.
