Does this need external power or can it run off usb power?

Very nice, compactish, solid construction external hard drive here. Yes, to the person with the ps3 problem, either get a sony ext.hdd or make a partition on normal disc and set it as a fat32 system type, if you google it, theres plenty of tutorials on making a partition.

I use this for all my music, films and backups, the only thing i keep on my pc/desktop now is documents and games, i bring this thing to school, use it fine there aswell. Had this thing for nigh on two months now, not a single fault, copy speeds are good, and so long as your careful, you shouldnt get any problems with conflicts, i even now have a partition on this thing with windows xp pro installed on it, use this with the school eee's and they run xp from the partition fine. And at a decent price with enough memory to last the average user for a few years at least
