To begin with, I use windows XP Home with SP2 for this webcam. Video images are good in both colour and focus but some blurring on fast movement was noted; this webcam runs at only 15 frames/sec. Performance in low light conditions, such as, artificial lighting was also good and I found the sound quality to be very good at all times. However, as stated in the title I was required to do some tweeking. The webcam seemed to produce jerky results on Skype yet seemed fine when viewed in the webcams provided software. In the end I cured the problem as follows; first I installed a webcam usb hotfix from microsoft, Windows XP KB899271-v4-x86-ENU, I downloaded V3.0 of the webcams software, the webcam comes with V2.0, and finally, I installed an older version of Skype V220.127.116.11, remembering to switch off the auto update to keep this version. This cured my problems and now the video is smooth. So in conclusion, a good webcam at a good price but needing some tweeking to obtain good results.
