Buffalo 500GB DriveStation TurboUSB With Power Saving Mode USB External Hard Drive

Really Quite, Really Quick and looks like my PS3, I was really impressed with this drive. Much better looking than the previous Black and Silver effort and with a power saving mode. I'm using it to store my music collection anf photos and I don't seem to see any delay when access information so its a thumbs up from me.

I know i shouldnt be writing in a review section when i dont have the product (hence the neutral 3 stars) and for that i apologise. I was also looking at this for my ps3 and emailed buffalo directly to find out if it was compatible. They came back, literally, with a one word answer saying yes. So think am gonna take the risk on this come payday. Hope this helps.

Quiet, effortless and extremely efficient. This external hard drive is one of the best on the market and also comes at a very resonable price. With a total of 500GB (465GB of actual free space) it's easily enough to store a sufficient amount of video, music, photos or data.

Personally I found it very easy to use. Just plug and play, compatible with the PS3, PC and MAC. Very sleak PS3 like design. Comes with power cord and USB cable.

Anyone planning on backing up anything digital, this is the product for you.

Saw this advertised here, thought must check out the reviews. Unfortuantly most of them were people asking questions, rather than any valuable review of the product, thankfully there were some proper reviews. The installation of the drive takes as long as it took to get out of the box, well infact less time, up and running in 2 minutes. It comes pre-formatted to Fat32, if you use windows strongly recommend you re-format to NTFS. There is software on the disc, which nicely offers to format to NTFS for you, also the option to install TurboUSB, both of these I did. It also has other software that you can install, but this was another positive point, it assumes you do not want to install it, so you have to choose. Personally I didn't install any of it. The drive is very quite, slim and sits nicely on the desk. If you can get it while it's on offer here do, wish I had the cash to buy 2. Or maybe a 1 terabyte HD should be next.

Every internal 2.5" is ps3 compatible (in exchange with the original), every external drive formatted with fat32 can be pluged in via usb (but cannot hold ps3 system files oder savegames(so, just for backup reasons maybe)).
