  Gone bad

I've used these discs many times before with no problems but I noticed that the latest batch had a different label. I found out why after wasting 8 discs trying to burn a video. When I used a trusted Sony DVD+RW disc I got a perfect burn. These are only good for data - I'm using Sony from now on.

  Great with Films/TV

I only use them to store tv off a Pioneer DVD Recorder, and haven't tried my PC. However for the task I use it for these disks are superb, easily besting makes such as Imation and Verbatim, which cost many times more and which have a ten times higher failure rate. So, if you want to archive those golden moments from the one eyed monster, these are the disks to use (and good value too, especially the 100 spindle).

  Work fine for me

I've been using these for 2-3 years with not a single bad disc out of the 500+ I've bought. The 1st discs burned are still working fine and work in all the drives I've tried them in. I'm using a lacie d2 firewire drive to burn them and running mac os 10.3-4. No compatability problems for me. However the -R versions of these discs don't seem to work with my burner.

i can see why these are priced at £9.99. i brought these a few months ago and half the disc were ok but the other half dindt work on my pc. i would usually get disc errors or really bad picture quiality. DO NOT BUY

Not what they used to be

These used to have the TY03 dye and were excellent, they now use Ricoh F1 which is much less compatible and less stable. I buy the Verbatim 16x DVD-R 100pk, which use a Mitsubishi dye (MCC), now and the Verbs are far superior (and cheaper).

  First rate product

I have just received these disks, and have discovered them to be of the highest quality.

The actual disks are manufactured in Taiwan by Ricoh (of Japan) and use a good quality dye that may be considered an industry standard (my words).

This really is very good value for money

  Cheap rubbish AVOID

I burn anything up to 20 dvds a day in my profession and Maxell is by far the worst media I have ever used. We have 100pks which are unusable due to the severe markings on the media and those which appear to burn correctly nearly always fail upon verification. I stick to Sony though Im sure there are even better options but the DVD -R Sony 50pks although more expensive gives me peace of mind over this junk.
