The fan is obviously very high quality, and the stand itself seems solid, using decent quality plastics, but the design isn't great. The main fan for your GPU needs to be on the side of your laptop, otherwise you will find it doesn't do as good a job at cooling as most other smaller trays will do. Definitely do not buy if you have a newishDell Studio, it won't have any impact on the temperature.

had this since january this year, and now it is no more, yes it is broken to the point of not working.

this is a great buy. I have a acer laptop which are famous for over heating (dont get one of them) and this fan solved my problem in a heart beat. i would say pay attention to the size. For me its fine because i have at 16" screen but not really suitable for notbooks and things. Cant hear it or feel it, and no chance of your laptop sliding off. I bought for 12.99 and 3 days later it was 19.99 but still a great buy. seen in a store (every little helps store) and they are 30.00.

Bought the white version when they first came out two years plus ago.
Still working.
this is for another laptop, so mine can stop being 'borrowed'
Much improved, better cable connection, more stable rear leg.
Fan is quieter and stronger than previous.
Quiet, infact we had to check it was on.
Laptop is cool and can be put into a bag straight away.

i recently got one of there, but didnt concider the size when buying it, i have a 15'6 hp as it huge comperd to it, it does the job, but hangs off each end, i would be guessing it is to small for a 15'4 also... but apart from that, it take one usb slow, and cools...

I've had one now for about 3 months and its still going strong. I have an XPS 17" laptop and it never over heats thanks to this bargain, well worth the money. If an complaints, I would say its slightly noisy, but nothing major, I was just expecting complete silence!

if you dont want to spend a fortune on a laptop cooler, then this is it! It has one fan in the middle and the middle of the cooler is curved down the way to let the air out the sides. it works reasonably well but has a couple of limitations - the bit where the wire is plugged in disappeared into the unit on mine... simply unscrewed and superglued it back!... the leg at the back to back it stand up isnt the most sturdy but it does!... and the cable often gets lost (thats prob just me though!). I would recommend, if like me, you dont want to spend a lot of money of these things

I was given one of these for Christmas in 2008. It worked very effectively with my laptop and did the job. After 3 months however, where the USB cable plugs into the cooling platform broke by disapearing inside the cooler.
As this item has a 1 year guarantee, I replaced it with an idential one, which again after 3 months, broke.
I was always careful with the cooler, packed away carefully whenever I took it out and never was forceful with the cables.
I do not recommend this product purely on the fact that I have had two that have broken.

Does what it says on the tin. Very simple to use and stops overheating. doesn't feel too cheap. Nice and quiet too.
