Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-HD-S2 / DVB-S2 PCI Receiver

This is a single tuner SD and HD satellite card that will pick up free to air channels from a satellite dish. If you have had sky in the past there is no need to alter your dish.

The channel line up is similar to freesat, If you wish to see a full current listing of availible channels head to 'Lyngsat' and choose 28.2 for Europe. There are many channels availible without subscription and will also give you free to air HD channels such as BBC HD as well as any they decide to add in the future, (free to air meaning as part of your TV license fee)

The bundled software with this card I found is buggy, clumsy, unrealible and downloads the electronic guide from the dish which causes alot of problems but don't worry there is a much better alternative which you probably already have sitting on your computer. If you use Windows Vista (free TV update required) or Windows 7 you will have windows media center which works wonders with this card which is a pleasure to use, you can pause, record, schedule recordings, series link, ceefax, see the next two weeks of films etc all through the easy interface after about 2 minutes to setup and the listings are downloaded from the internet which are instant. The bundled remote I found was pretty poor and only works with the bundled software, Any media center remote should work fine for this card in media center and are usually far better in comparison.

Absolute 10/10 product, Only snag I suppose is that if you want to watch one channel whilest recording another you will need two of these cards, no big deal just pop another in and away you go...
