  Good first time "steering wheel"

| | See all miguelatthenewinn's reviews (12)

Wow! Ordered this on a Tuesday and it was delivered on the Friday!!
Plugged it in, turned it on and my lap times on F1 2010 improved straight away... now for Gran Turismo 5... and thats where we have the hiccups.
Getting the settings right took a little longer than expected but the handling is good and I would definitely recommend this wheel to anyone who wants to play driving games properly.
All in all, an excellent purchase and at an astonishingly cheap price compared to other sites.

  Budget Gaming

Title says it all, if your on a budget then go for this, you wont be disappointed. Bought for F1 2010 & 2011 when it comes out and it works great on F1 2010. It takes a bit of setting up to get all the buttons and feeling in the wheel as you like it but its not really a big problem.

The pedals are also solid which what i was worried about but i need not have worried, they are spot on!

The only thing i would have a worry about is the angle of turn on the wheel. It rotates either way till 270 i think but after say 100 degree turn you start to push on the elastic mechanism which could maybe cause problems in 6months or so if you really be harsh with it but you cant expect much for 40 pounds and you do get your monies worth at that.

Reasons to buy
1. If you are first time wheel user like me then buy this
2. If your on a budget like me then buy this , g25, g27? are ye mad!
3. It is worth every penny of its price
4. If you have big feet like me then buy this because a clutch could get in your way.

If you have some monies for this now but maybe your still holding back on mixed reviews then save a little more and go for the Ferrari 430 wheel which is nice at 80 pounds but if your just looking to have some serious fun on a driving game then this is your best bet

Cheap enough just incase you dont like wheels :)

As i long term user of a xbox controller on GTR2, RACE 07, F1 2010 i can at last say that i am coverted to using wheels now and am only on day 2 of using it. I am already beating my tt times on f1 2010 and overall just a better balance and control of whats happening on screen compared to a controller.

Overall view out of 10 is a very well earned 9/10 1 point against for the elastic mechanism which isnt bad but just a feeling of cheap about it that it could break :) if you ignore it and just race it wont be a problem during your gaming session.

  Very good for the price

This thrustmaster wheel is fantastic but could be better the way it springs back after you've turned it can get anouying it would be good to have a switch so you can turn it on or off. All in all a great wheel is very stable when clamped on to a desk or stand very comfortable pedals with a very good wheel

  Good wheel

Wheel is well built, sturdy and good design. The buttons feel a little soft but the Home button for PS3 is a godsend after my last wheel, which didn't have one.

Be warned however that it isn't force feedback and the vibration settings don't work at all on PS3. The linear resistance is no match for true force feedback, unfortunately neither Thrustmaster nor Logitech have any force feedback wheels in the under 50 quid price bracket.

All in all a good wheel but just not up to standard! Not bad for 40 quid though.

  Good 1st time wheel

| | See all Saidha's reviews (1)

- Very cheap in comparison to the build quality of the wheel
- Provides quite a realistic feeling of driving with vibration and sensation of stress when trying to full lock
- Good gear shift flaps
- As someone the has never used a racing wheel this is a good starting wheel. If you want the more realistic, but hugely expensive G25 then you do pay 5 times the price.

- The self centering on this wheel is using a bungee cord system, so the return to center is not gentle, like a real car.
- The steering wheel feels plastic and light weight.
- Pedals are plastic and do not grip the floor very well.
- No force feedback, only vibration.
