I'd say this is the best entry level throttle and stick combination for the money. If you fancy taking your flight sim experience up to the next level then this is a good joystick to pick. Not as expensive and technical as the Saitek X52, it's a good compromise.
There are a plethora of buttons including a coolie hat switch to change views. As you would expect from a stick at this price point, the microswitches aren't the greatest quality but are good enough for the job.
The stick itself can have it's tension adjusted underneath, so you can stiffen it up. As you can't do this on the throttle, this by contrast feels a little loose and could probably do with more travel considering it's size.
The stick also has a twisting action for rudder control but I prefer the rocker switch on the throttle for that - so thats a nice touch.
Some people complain the inbetween cable is a little short but I have no problems with it.
The reason why I bought it is because there didn't seem to be any other sticks around this price that could touch it - and after using it, I'm still of this view.
4 stars as you have to give Thrustmaster an opportunity to improve!
I was a little apprehensive about a HOTAS that was so cheap, however having heard decent reviews around the net I decided to give it a go, I'm glad I did. It's sturdy and surprisingly rugged for such a low price. It setup in seconds and I was in the air in minutes - greatly recommended.
It only loses 1 star as the cable seperating the throttle and stick is a little shorter than really needed, it could do with another 6-8 inches.
