THIS IS A BRILLIANT PRODUCT!!!!!! It is very handy and the light is VERY bright! Definately worth buying! Even for people who are not Doctor Who fans! 5 Stars!

  Misleading photo

The light isn't as bright as the photo would suggest, and the detail around the bulb is also nothing special. Also a little bit on the small side. Probably better going for the lights and sound one, though.

  Cheap and nasty.

For this to be called a LED Torch is a joke, The light is so dull that my Mobile phones screen is brighter. I had mine for a week and the plastic split at the top near the screw that holds it together.

My honest advice, If you want a torch buy a torch. If you want a Sonic Screwdriver buy the toy its 10 times sturdier and brighter.

I bought this for my boyfriend as he loves doctor who, and he really liked it (although it's only a torch) it's definetley worth £2.99 but i wouldnt pay anymore for it, as it is only a torch.

  Can be improved

As a more mature Dr.Who fan i found the larger sonic screwdriver with lights and sounds fantastic, but i looked about four playing with it. This torch is an excellent alternative, its smaller, simpler but still has a good Dr.Who feel about it. Yes its very basic, but i found that the LED was very weak (2mm diameter LED), and it being such a simple design, i took it apart and soldered in an 8mm one instead, amazingly easy and now its a unique, very cool and very bright torch.
Make sure you know what your buying, this is the torch ONLY!! the lights and sound one is a larger and different product.

  Cool stuff!

Smaller then the sonic screwdriver torch, like a short ball point pen, I find myself taking this everywhere, and when I pop it out while rummeging through my pockets, having to explain "I swear! Its just a torch!", but it is actualy a brilliant toy, and if you ever need a small yet poweful for its size torch, this is it. Only downside is the switch. Its a bit flickery, pushing it all the way wont turn it on, but nothing bad but that.

  It can be fixed

I bought 2 of these for my nephews and yes they do break easily but I also found them quite easy to fix. Pushing the button up activates a thin piece of metal that closes the circuit and turns it on. This metal cant take much pressure so by bending it out a bit more, being gentle and not screwing the top back on too hard its fine. Have had to do this on both about 5 times now!

My Children thought it was great!

My children already have the sonic screwdriver that makes the sonic sound, so I got this as an alternative, and they love it! It's thinner and smaller than the other more popular one, but it gives off a really pleasing and very bright light that they thought was fun (and quiet) to use at bed time. (it isn't a pen). If you're expecting the sonic screwdriver with sound, I can appreciate that this would be a disappointment, but as a cheaper alternative, its great! We have had ours for about a month.
