I bought this for 7 year old but enjoyed it myself as well!
The image is clear, lighting good and the focussing works well (7 year old still finds that bit tricky unaided)
The great thing is that it's totally portable - if you take the microscope off the detachable stand you can view anything directly - no need to make up slides. So for example you can look very closely at fabrics or things in the garden, without hurting them.
I'd thoroughly recommend and am buying another for a friend.
