The Dark Knight Rises
Batman: The Dark Knight Rises is the final instalment in Christopher Nolan’s epic trilogy. Taking the blame for the death of Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight went into exile, leaving Gotham in the hands of Commissioner Gordon. Gordon succeeded, and peace prevailed. Bruce Wayne was convinced that the Batsuit could remain on its hanger, and never be worn again. When a masked terrorist emerges from the shadows and threatens to destroy Gotham, Batman must return from his 8 years exile to face his toughest foe yet: Bane.
The Dark Knight Rises is the final film in the series, and follows on from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. The film continues the gritty realism of the first two films, and builds on the characters, stories, and themes from them. Christian Bale returns to the suit, and is accompanied once more by Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. Anne Hathaway captivates as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, and is joined by Tom Hardy as the utterly terrifying Bane.
As with all Nolan films, The Dark Knight Rises works on many levels, and the epic visuals need to be seen to be believed, it is the essential movie experience.
