What is my PlayFunds account?
Your PlayFunds account is where we deposit your cash when you make a sale on PlayTrade. When you register as a PlayTrader we automatically create a PlayFunds account for you to store the proceeds of any sales you make. You may transfer the money from your PlayFunds account into your bank account or may spend the money on further purchases at Play.com to save even more.
What can I spend my proceeds on?
Money in your PlayFunds account can be used to purchase any item listed on the Play.com website including items offered by other PlayTraders. Currently the only thing you cannot purchase using your PlayFunds account is Gift Vouchers.
How do I use my proceeds to buy something?
Proceed to the checkout as normal, where you will be asked to choose your payment method. Select the Use PlayFunds
option on the right hand side of the screen, enter the amount you would like to use and click “Use PlayFunds”.
As a security feature, before you can spend or withdraw the money in your PlayFunds account you must register your bank details in the Account Preferences section of your PlayTrade account. 14 days after you register your bank details you may spend or withdraw money from your PlayFunds account.
Please note: You do not have to wait until you have sold something to register your bank details with us, which can reduce the amount of time you need to wait before you can spend or withdraw money from your PlayFunds account.
How do I withdraw cash from my PlayFunds account?
The money in your PlayFunds account can be transferred to your bank account. By doing this you will incur a 5% transfer fee. To make the transfer you will need to register your bank details with us. This can be done in the Account Preferences section of your PlayTrade account. Remember though, if you spend your PlayFunds at Play.com you save the 5% transfer fee!
I have sold something. Why has the money not appeared in my PlayFunds account?
Your sale proceeds are credited to your PlayFunds account when you confirm that the product has been posted to the customer. Once you have posted the item, log into your Account and select Sales from the PlayTrade menu. Locate the order and click Confirm Dispatch. This sends an email to the customer confirming that the item is on its way, and credits your PlayFunds account with the proceeds of the sale.
Can I use my PlayFunds account to part-pay for an order?
Yes. You can part pay towards an order and any balance left to pay will be charged to your credit card as normal.
Can I use my PlayFunds account to pay for more than one item?
Yes. Provided you have sufficient cash in your PlayFunds account there is no limit to the number of items which may be purchased in a single transaction.
Can I pre-order an item using my PlayFunds account?
Yes. When you check out using your PlayFunds account for an item which has not yet been released, the cash is immediately deducted from your PlayFunds account to pay for the item when it is released. If you change your mind you can cancel the order and the money will be transferred back to your PlayFunds account.
What happens if I need a refund for an item I have purchased using PlayFunds?
If you receive a refund for an item paid for using your PlayFunds account, you will receive the equivalent credit back into your PlayFunds account. If you part-paid for an item you will receive the equivalent part payment back in your PlayFunds account.
Why can’t I spend or withdraw money from my PlayFunds account?
As a security feature you must wait for 14 days after you register your bank details with us, before you can spend or withdraw cash from your PlayFunds account. After 14 days full PlayFunds functionality will be available to you.
